For those in the New England Area-
Are you caring for a sibling with a developmental disability?
Researchers from University of Massachusetts-Boston’s Gerontology Department and the Institute for Community Inclusion are seeking participants for focus group discussions about the issues surrounding caring for a sibling with a developmental disability, particularly as both siblings age. We are interested in learning about your experience as a sibling caregiver thus far and how this role as caregiver has impacted your life and what it means for your future as you age. In particular, we are interested in learning the challenges and rewards associated with being a sibling caregiver. If we can better understand how siblings are caring for their disabled siblings as they age, we can hope to better support their unmet needs and provide both siblings with the highest quality of life possible in the future. The focus group will take approximately 90 minutes. The other component is completing a short demographic survey at the beginning of the focus group discussion.
In appreciation of your participation in the focus group you will receive a $25 gift card. Focus groups will generally be held in the evenings,
6:30-8pm at the
Institute for Community Inclusion:
20 Park Plaza (13th Fl)
Boston, MA 02116
