Season’s Greetings, siblings and sibling supporters! On behalf of the Sibling Leadership Network (SLN), I wish you Happy Holidays!
Being part of the SLN is like having a larger family. I get to connect with people from across the country and world who believe in the importance of the raising awareness about the sibling experience. We continue to work to provide siblings of people with disabilities with information and support so they can advocate with their brothers and sisters with disabilities and promote issues important to them and their entire families. We have a group of dedicated volunteers from across the country that comprises our Board and Committees—without them we would not be able to effectively meet our mission.
I am especially grateful for the great leadership of our outgoing Chair, Shea Tanis, whose diligence and energy helped us have a very successful year. Shea will continue to serve as a leader on the Board and mentor incoming Board members. I’m equally excited to announce our incoming Chair, Pat Carver. Pat brings passion and wisdom to this role and will lead the organization to new heights in the coming year. I know that 2014 has much in store for us and I am excited to ring it in with you all! Here’s to a great year!
