Don Meyer, director, Sibling Support Project and creator of the Sibshop program, shares the importance of the SLN:
In the United States, there are millions of siblings of people with disabilities. Prior to the creation of the Sibling Leadership Network, there was no organization advocating for policies important to these brothers and sisters. Brothers and sisters will have the longest-lasting relationship with the family members who have disabilities, and these relationships affect the well-being of people with disabilities and their families. Brothers and sisters deserve to be heard by policymakers, service providers, and anyone who cares about the importance of families. For everyone’s sake, help assure that sibs’ issues are represented by supporting the indispensable Sibling Leadership Network.
If you relate to stories like Don’s, we invite you to get involved with the SLN and show your support. Donating is easy!
We have created a PayPal giving page which you can access via this page as a quick and easy way to give back: http://siblingleadership.org/get-involved/donate-now/
If you choose to donate online, you have the option to select monthly recurring donations that are tax deductible. A simple monthly contribution of $5, $10 or $20 per month will provide the SLN with ongoing support for the work that we do without having a significant impact on monthly finances. All you have to do is check the box saying “make this recurring.”
We also accept checks made out to the Sibling Leadership Network. Please mail them to our office at:
