SLN Chapters around the country are gearing up to celebrate National Siblings Day on April 10th! Here are some of the ways they’re celebrating:
Sunday April 10 – You, Me, and Other Sibs: Northern California Adult Sibs Meetup
We’ll be meeting for a casual lunch meet-up to discuss our experience as Sibs with people who understand walking in our shoes. We’ll also unveil our plans for 2016 in the California Sibling Leadership Network. What a perfect way to celebrate National Siblings Day!
Tuesday April 26 – Special Snowflakes: Celebrating Sibs
Extending the National Sibling Day celebration all month long, CASLN VP and co-founder Jaqueline Moreno will be speaking to an audience of families and Sibs about her book Pieces: My Sister, Her Autism, and Me, and leading a discussion on the special bond between Sibs and siblings.
Sibling Tree will be having a picnic on April 10th at Westminster Sensory Park which is a 100% accessible park. This event is free for families. We will be giving goody bags to everyone who RSVP’s that were donated by FirstBank. There will be pizza, drinks and cake. We will also have everyone add a leaf to our tree that talks about being a sibling, as well as the Westminster Fire Department come and give a tour of their truck.
In honor of National Siblings Week, the Massachusetts Sibling Support Network and The Special Needs Financial Planning Team at Shepherd Financial Partners invite you to celebrate at a fun and informative evening for adults featuring SibTip Trivia and Wine & Craft Beer Tasting on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at The Spirited Gourmet, 448 Common St., Belmont.
