ABC’s New Television Show Speechless Created By a Sib


The new ABC comedy Speechless premiered last week to overwhelming support from the disability community. The show features a character with a disability and his family navigating their daily lives. According to an article by David Perry in The Atlantic, “The show’s creator, Scott Silveri, knows the stakes: His brother has cerebral palsy and significant cognitive disabilities, so he set out to write a comedy that reflected the kind of family he came from.”
