Time: 2:00 – 3:30pm EST
The ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center and Missouri Family To Family invite you to attend a webinar on how to make the best use of the recently released Charting the LifeCourse Respite Tools.
Being a caregiver can be one of the most rewarding and most challenging times we face. In order to continue to care for family members who require additional support, we must remember to care for ourselves as well.
The Charting the LifeCourse Respite materials, developed by Missouri Family to Family in partnership with the ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center, are meant to help caregivers and those who support them to:
- understand the meaning and importance of respite/short breaks,
- see real life examples, understand the possibilities and options that exist for respite, within and outside the formal, paid service system, and
- create a successful plan that uses these short breaks to enhance the lives of all family members.
During this webinar, Jane St. John from Missouri Family to Family will provide an overview of the LifeCourse Tools. She will walk participants through the new Charting the LifeCourse Respite Guide, the Respite Portfolio, and the Integrated Supports Schedule, with guidance on how to use the tools most effectively to help you, or the families you work with, get a well-deserved break.
If you are a family caregiver of a child or adult with a disability, chronic condition or functional limitation, or a professional who works with family caregivers, this webinar will help you get the most out of using the new tools to think about and plan for respite. Formal respite services are often out of reach for many, or not always the preferred option. These tools will be especially helpful in identifying additional resources for finding informal respite in the community.
