New Sib Podcast Survey

Research & Surveys

Sheena Brevig is partnering with the Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) to launch a new podcast dedicated to exploring the unique experiences of being a “Sib” — a sibling of a person with a disability. (See the next page for the full definition.)

As a Sib herself, Sheena has spent years navigating her own mental and physical wellness — often independently, like many in the Sib community. While challenges like anxiety, burnout, and the tendency to overextend support to others are common in general, she’s found that these experiences are often intensified by the unique dynamics of being a Sib.

This podcast aims to create space for honest conversation, connection, and healing. It’s rooted in the belief that Sib stories matter, Sib mental health matters, and that this identity deserves dedicated attention.

This survey will help shape the direction of the podcast by:

  • Highlighting topics that resonate with real Sib experiences

  • Identifying themes that are most important to the community

  • Connecting with potential guests who want to share their stories

  • Gauging interest in a supportive Sib community

The survey takes about 5–7 minutes to complete, and every response plays a vital role in building a podcast — and potentially a larger community — that truly reflects and supports the needs of Sibs.

All personal information will remain confidential. Any stories shared will be anonymized unless the respondent explicitly expresses interest in being featured as a guest. Demographic information is collected only to better understand and serve our community and will not be shared externally.

Thank you for lending your voice to this important project. Your story matters.
