In partnership with our friends at Supporting Illinois Brothers and Sisters (S.I.B.S.), we’re sharing an invitation for siblings to share their grief and loss stories.
A few years ago, S.I.B.S. invited siblings to share their grief and loss stories. While they received several meaningful submissions, the sibling community has grown—and with so many new voices, we feel called to open this invitation again.
We invite you to share reflections on your brother or sister—memories, lessons, moments of joy, and the experience of loving and losing someone who shaped your life.
These stories will be featured in the S.I.B.S. Sibling Grief Blog, a growing collection dedicated to honoring sibling lives and uplifting the voices of those who loved them.
You do not need to be a writer. Your voice matters. Your story matters.
S.I.B.S. has created simple story guidelines. Please email info@sibsnetwork.org to request them before submitting your story.
How to participate:
– Email info@sibsnetwork.org to request story guidelines
– Write your story at your own pace
– Submit when you feel ready
You can also visit sibsnetwork.org/sibling-grief to read stories that have previously been shared.
Sibling grief is often invisible. This collection aims to honor the lives of siblings, give voice to sibling grief experiences, help others feel less alone in their grief journey, and build understanding of the lifelong bond between siblings.
