  • Barb Sapharas, Adjunct Professor at Notre Dame College and Mentor Trainer in the Learning Community for Person Centered Practices
  • Angela Martin, Community Support Specialist with the Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI), Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan

This session will present the siblings’ perspective on person centered planning to support people with disabilities in valued lives of citizenship. The presentation will identify strategies to engage all team members in discovering information about the person being served, and explore how to support individuals with disabilities as contributing members of their communities. The presentation will include research-based information, and practical examples for direct support workers to be engaged in, and supportive of, person centered thinking.
