Our vision is for siblings of people with disabilities to form connections, shared lived experiences, access information, utilize resources, and advocate collectively. This will be accomplished through providing information, resources and systems navigation; hosting educational opportunities and social events; acting as a unified voice for improving public policy; and facilitating connections to people who have walked in their shoes. We welcome ‘lessons learned’ and tips for holding a successful (state or local) sibling meeting.
Look in the spring for our website to go live – www.vasibs.org and www.vasibs.com – as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts. For more information, contact Dana Yarbrough at dvyarbrough@vcu.edu
