Include People with Disabilities on National Voter Registration Day

News

National Voter Registration Day
September 22nd was National Voter Registration Day. According to the National Council on Independent Living, this day “is important for the disability community because in 2008 there were an estimated 6 million people who did not vote because they missed a registration deadline or did not know how to register.”
The Sibling Leadership Network encourages EVERYONE to vote. Also, siblings can play a key role in supporting our brothers and sisters with disabilities to get registered to vote, get educated about the candidates, and get to the polls. For voting resources, please visit our Voting Center. The disability vote must be represented!
