September 22nd was National Voter Registration Day. According to the National Council on Independent Living, this day “is important for the disability community because in 2008 there were an estimated 6 million people who did not vote because they missed a registration deadline or did not know how to register.”
The Sibling Leadership Network encourages EVERYONE to vote. Also, siblings can play a key role in supporting our brothers and sisters with disabilities to get registered to vote, get educated about the candidates, and get to the polls.
