Disability Mentoring Day

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) has coordinated Disability Mentoring Day (DMD), a nation-wide initiative to promote disability employment, on the third Wednesday of October since 1999. According to AAPD, DMD’s goal is “to promote career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through hands-on career exploration and ongoing mentoring relationships.” Siblings can promote the efforts behind this important day by supporting disability employment year-round.
