The Council on Quality and Leadership recently published a whitepaper on Supported Decision Making, which is growing in the United States as a legal alternative to traditional full guardianship while also attending issues of justice, autonomy, and self-determination. The whitepaper describes policy, procedure, and practice approaches of SDM, as well as any pertinent empirical evidence to provide insight and inform stakeholder groups of best practices and benefits of SDM over other forms of legal representation.
