On July 28, 2019, SLN’s Executive Director Katie Arnold and Project Manager Amy Halm made presentations at the 2019 Congenital Muscle Disease Scientific and Family Conference in Chicago, IL. In the morning, they hosted 2 energetic and engaging sibshops – one for younger children and one for teens. Siblings enjoyed playing games and learning from each other’s sibling experiences. Sibshop attendees came from all over the country, as well as 2 other continents! In the afternoon, Katie presented 2 breakout sessions about the Sibling Experience to adults – including adult siblings, parents, and professionals. The audience included people from South Africa, Norway, Spain, and the UK. The sessions were very powerful and included rich discussions.
