TN Siblings Conference
November 9, 2019 from 10:00am-3:00pm at the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center

The TN Adults Brothers and Sisters (TABS) sibling support network is hosting a conference for siblings of individuals with disabilities on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center (VKC) in Nashville. TABS is coordinated by sibling volunteers, the Council, and VKC. TABS is TN’s chapter of the national Sibling Leadership Network. TABS strives to empower and educate siblings who have a brother or a sister with a disability with information and resources and to develop local and statewide support networks of siblings.

The conference will feature sessions on future planning, self-care for caregivers, healthcare, and supported decision-making and conservatorship. Young adult and adult siblings, as well as other supporters (parents, professionals, and people with disabilities), are welcome to attend to learn more about sibling issues, but this will primarily be an opportunity for brothers and sisters of people with disabilities to connect to one another. Register today for $25 – deadline to register is Oct. 31.
