Katie Arnold, SLNās Executive Director, and Nina Bihani, SLNās Co-Chair of Policy and Advocacy, were invited to connect virtually with Saarthi, the Sibling Support Network in India, to share and learn together about supporting siblings of people with disabilities.Ā Saarthi was holding a Global Sib Diwali Meet.Ā Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the major festivals celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs.Ā Katie and Nina shared some of their personal sibling stories with the group and then shared an overview of the SLN and the work we are currently doing, including how SLN is supporting siblings during the pandemic.Ā Nikita Hayden of SibsUK also shared her research during the event.Ā They were very impressed with the great work Saarthi is doing to support siblings of people with disabilities in India.
