May 7-13th is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

Events, General, News, Resources
This week, let’s take a moment to reflect on the importance of promoting positive mental health in children and its impact on their overall well-being. Let’s work together to create a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
Below, we have listed a couple of resources to get started on learning how to support young people’s mental health:
  • Child Mind Institute: Offers resources and support for children and families, including articles, videos, and online workshops. Visit their website at childmind.org/education
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Provides resources and support for individuals and families affected by mental illness. You can find more information at nami.org/Support-Education
  • Sibling Leadership Network – We provide siblings of individuals with disabilities the information, support, and tools to advocate with their brothers and sisters and to promote the issues that are important to them. Our upcoming Sibposium on May 30th is a free online Zoom event that will focus on emerging practices in healthcare and discuss how siblings can be supported to play a role in the health of their siblings while having their own needs met.
