This week, we are featuring SLN’s State Chapter in Wisconsin. Established in 1998, WisconSibs, Inc operates regularly scheduled Sibshops, Sib Camps and other sibling summer programs for children and teens. The organization provides information, peer support, social activities, and the Journey Forward future planning program for adult siblings. WisconSibs welcomes any person of any age who has a sibling with disabilities or long-term health condition AND has a connection to Wisconsin (you live in Wisconsin, your sibling lives in Wisconsin, or you just like Wisconsin) to consider themselves a WisconSib.
They have an upcoming event: Pumpkin Fun Sibshop
Join WisconSibs as they kick off their 2023-24 Sibshop season.
311 S Oneida St. Green Bay, WI
WisconSibs Sibshops are workshops for children ages 6-12 who are brothers and sisters of children with disabilities or long-term illnesses. Sibshops are lively, relaxed events that combine recreation, information, and discussion, and give siblings the opportunity to celebrate the contributions and the challenges of their brothers and sisters with others their age who “get it.”
At the October Sibshop, there will be pumpkin painting (we will provide the pumpkins), active games, pumpkin treats/snacks and other activities to foster an environment of connection for the sibs.
