SLN Members Engage at AUCD Conference

The Sibling Leadership Network (SLN) had a strong showing at the 2013 conference of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). The SLN helped kick off the conference with a pre-conference workshop called “We’re All In This Together: Self-Advocates, Siblings, and Families Advancing the Movement for Self-determination.”  This half day session provided a great venue to discuss ways that the movements are interconnected and how together we are stronger.
SLN members are also part of the leadership team for AUCD’s Family Support Special Interest Group which met to discuss ways UCEDDs can continue to support families across the country.
On Monday night, the SLN hosted a Sibling Meet & Greet to connect
sibs from across the network. Many SLN state chapters are supported by the
University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities that make up
a core section of AUCD’s membership, and the SLN looks forward to continuing
