An article in the Herald of Everett, Washington featured Kendall Appell, recently hired by The Arc of Snohomish County as coordinator of its new Adult Sibling Support program. As part of her work in supporting siblings, Appell hopes to form a Washington state chapter of the Sibling Leadership Network.
The article quotes Rachel Patterson, Chair of the SLN Communications Committee, who grew up in Washington: “We find that while policymakers usually don’t intend to exclude siblings, too often we simply aren’t considered in family and caregiver policy.”
