Allies in Leadership, Policymaking and Systems Change (ALPS) is a leadership and advocacy training funded by the CO Developmental Disabilities Council. As a participant of our training, you will be able to join the ALPS Committee which will work together to help create change and policies.
Throughout our training, we will cover six topics:
1) Disability History, Federal Policy, and National Goals
2) Promising Practices in Service and Supports in the United States
3) Navigating Service Delivery System, Service Coordination, and Resources
4) Sibling Issues and Concerns
5) Legislative Process
6) Leadership and Advocacy
From February until the end of April, we will have online portals for you to work through on your own, as well as four in person trainings and national speakers via GoToMeeting every Thursday from 6-8 PM. We will start on February 3rd and end on April 28th.
