The Sibling Leadership Network is Awarded the 2021 Community Care Corps Grant

News

We are honored to announce The Sibling Leadership Network was awarded the 2021 Community Care Corps grant! Community Care Corps is a national program created to support innovative local programs, using volunteers to help older adults, persons with disabilities, and family caregivers in need of non-medical assistance to remain living in their homes. Tens of millions of Americans are in critical need of assistance with simple household tasks, daily errands, and transportation. Many also need increased companionship to avert the devastating effects of isolation. The Sibling Leadership Network’s (SLN) model will engage volunteers to support adult siblings of people with disabilities, aging parents, and their brothers and sisters with disabilities. SLN will develop a Sib2Sib Mentoring Program, a monthly podcast series, and a virtual peer support form called Sibposiums. If you’re interested in learning more about our program, please reach out to Amy at amy.halm@siblingleadership.org.
