Welcome Kaitlin McNamara as the Sibling Leadership Network’s Executive Director!

We are pleased to welcome Kaitlin McNamara as the Sibling Leadership Network’s Executive Director!

I am thrilled and so honored to join the Sibling Leadership Network as the new Executive Director. As a sibling, I know the important role siblings can and do play in the lives of their siblings with disabilities as well as the support and tools they need as they navigate the sibling experience.

After getting my undergraduate degree in political communications from The George Washington University, I moved to northern Wisconsin to be close to my three younger sisters. In 2015, I joined the leadership team of a local arts nonprofit as their Assistant Director and Education Coordinator. Then, I served as the Executive Director and later as a Board Member for a nonprofit organization focused on youth civic engagement.

In 2019, I relocated to Madison, WI, to join the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities as the Project Coordinator for a Project of National Significance called Living Well. My work has focused on enhancing quality services, educating about human rights, and improving the systems of reporting abuse and neglect of people with disabilities. In 2022, I graduated from The University of Wisconsin Law School where I concentrated on disability justice and changing systems through administrative law.

I am passionate about creating inclusive and safe communities for people with disabilities and equipping siblings with the resources and skills they need to advocate alongside their siblings on the issues that matter to them. I am excited to bring my passion and experience to the Sibling Leadership Network to continue the amazing work of this organization.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Kaitlin!
