Eric McVay (SLN Board member) and Amy Halm (SLN Project Manager) enjoyed their experience and learned a lot at the SABE (Self Advocates Becoming Empowered) National Self-Advocacy Conference in Birmingham, Alabama.
Eric and Amy presented “Siblings Advocating Together to Make a Better Future” to an engaged audience of siblings, self-advocates, professionals, and parents from a variety of states. They shared ways that siblings can support each other throughout their lives, the importance of peer support for everyone in the family, and how siblings can support each other to get involved in advocacy together.
