My sister Janet, who had Down Syndrome, passed away in July in NYC. She suffered severe complications from pneumonia in February, and had been dependent on a ventilator and feeding tube since then, with little hope of significant improvement. So her death was sad–but also a mercy. I live in Virginia. I will always have the memory of attending her graveside funeral service via video teleconference, because of the pandemic.
I am so sorry for your loss, Marjorie. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I wish you all the needed peace and healing in the new year.
